Video Production
Video Production is an Advanced English course that proposes the creative
use of English through the production of a video. The students learn about
the history of photography since its beginning until recent technology as
well as analyze fotos, videos and films. They also develop their ideas, learn
how to plan their project and then finally produce their own videos at ABA's
Digital Laboratory.
During the first semester of 2004, seven students participated in Video Production.
They produced their videos using digital video technology and the software,
iMovie.
IMovie is a digital video editing program from Apple INC., ideal for use in
the classroom as it is simple to learn and use.

• Opinions
Video Production students give their opinions about the course:
"My English was used in a creative way when I wrote texts, when I saw images/photographs and had something to say about them and when I had to think about what I was going to make for my video project. I had so many different ideas."(Mariana)
"I think that using English as a tool for another purpose rather than learning English itself is more constructive than traditional classes." (Raphael)
"We have had the chance to analyze pieces of art and also videos and photos. And then we have had the chance to put our thoughts on paper - creatively, free to construct stories and screenplays, and all of this in English!!!" (Betania)
"My English has improved a lot. After reading those texts, I know that
I need to read in English a lot more and to learn a lot more words."
(Sophia)
